Judges in Montana run nonpartisan. That makes it difficult to know exactly where their political allegiance lies. Everyone has an opinion. We hope the following information will help you in deciding which MT Supreme Court candidate to vote for.
Cory Swanson vs Jerry Lynch
Mr. Swanson is the Broadwater County Attorney. As a prosecutor he has shown a concern for public safety. He hasn’t let offenders off easy as some prosecutors around the country. He was a deputy attorney general under Republican Tim Fox and wants a judiciary that will interpret the law and not legislate from the bench.
Mr. Lynch is a retired federal magistrate from Butte. He said, “The union’s influence in our life was tremendous.” He also has said that “The judiciary is the last bastion against a supermajority” (GOP). That is a very partisan statement.
Our strong recommendation is to vote for Swanson.
