The 2024 general elections are over and Flathead County has proven itself to be a strong Republican county once again. Compared to 2020, over 14,000 more people voted in our county. They voted overwhelmingly for Republican candidates.
Even in the three legislative districts gerrymandered to be strongly Democrat legislative seats, Representative Elect Lyn Bennett won one seat as a Republican, and our Republican candidates Doug Adams and Cathy Mitchell lost by 3 percent of the vote. Our thanks go to all three of these candidates for fighting the campaign fights.
Our Flathead Republican legislators were chosen for important legislative leadership positions last week for the upcoming 2025 legislature. Senator Elect Matt Regier was elected Senate President by his peers. Representatives Amy Regier and Braxton Mitchell were elected as House Majority Whips by their peers. We are proud of all of them.
Finally, all of this occurred because Flathead Republicans talked to their family, friends and neighbors and activated them to vote. This all occurred because the Flathead Republicans Central Committee mailed out a Republican Voting Guide to all the new county residents in time for the elections. This occurred because a handful of very motivated Republicans walked door to door spreading the good news about themselves as candidates.
On behalf of the Flathead Republicans, Thank you to everyone for the successful November elections. Enjoy our success. Prepare to get back to work to fight for freedom this January. After the holidays we need to get back in the arena supporting our Republican principles and our Republican legislators.
Thankful,
Dr. Al Olszewski
Chairman
